From scratch with love...

One of the neatest blessings about being at home with my little guys is whipping up some yummy goodies in the kitchen. Made from scratch is definitely a dying art these days. Now it's not always the easiest thing in the world to do, as everyone wants to pour, measure, and taste, but it sure is worth it. (Not to mention funny and fun!) The funniest memory so far would have to be when Caleb put a whole egg in our pumpkin cookies when I wasn't looking. He was cracking the egg and dropped the whole thing in. So when we we're rolling out the dough and I saw all these tiny little white specks, I thought I did something wrong. Needless to say, I figured it out, we all had a good laugh and we started over. Sweet memories! So almost every week, Caleb, Judah and I try and think up something to make for the week. Sometimes it's an easy granola recipe or muffins, but we do venture into more time consuming recipes like homemade bagels or graham crackers. So for Valentine's Day this year we decided to make homemade cinnamon rolls. I tried this recipe on my own a couple of Christmases ago and made such huge rolls, no one wanted to eat them because they looked abnormal. So here we are two years later giving it a whirl. They turned out a little better, much smaller too and pretty tasty. I guess the third time will be the charm. Maybe they'll actually look like cinnamon rolls. The boys didn't care either way. Slap on some cream cheese frosting and my boys will eat anything.
Judah enjoying the fruits of his labor!
