Sizzlin' Summer

Nothing says summer like a 116 degree day. Thankfully the monsoon rains are starting to roll in. Takes a little sizzle out of summer's heat. But even with these hot days ahead of us, we're having fun.
Oh, it's so hot!

We have our first cantaloupe from the garden! It's not very large, but it was the first one to show up, and has been out there for a few weeks now. And since there are too many cantaloupes to count now, we thought it wouldn't hurt to try one. We will have to come up with some serious cantaloupe recipes. Nothing out of the watermelons...yet. We're still hopeful since the vines have taken over their section of the garden. There was one tiny watermelon a couple weeks ago, but it didn't come to anything. I think we'll have our hands full with cantaloupes right now anyway.
Can you spot the cantaloupes?

And what would summer be without celebrating our freedom. Happy Fourth of July!

Did you see that one!!?
We love the fourth!
