Snowman Soup

A sweet friend at church gave our family a cute little poem attached to a bag of ingredients for Snowman Soup. I had never seen such a cute idea. Apparently it's been around in all its various forms, but I thought it was a sweet gift and fun idea. So, as any homeschooling Mommy would do, I turned it into a cooking/math/science lesson and wah lah..a recipe for Snowman Soup is born. The boys' faces were more than worth the effort. Thanks Donna!

Recipe for Snowman Soup (by Caleb and Judah and Kellen)
2-3 packages of hot chocolate mix (math- How much will we need for 3 and 1/2 people?)
Hot water (Cooking and math- How much water will we need?)
Marshmallows (Science- Will they melt?)
Chocolate kisses (and real kisses too after the chocolate ones disappear!)
Peppermint sticks or candy canes for stiring
Who wouldn't want to kiss those cheeks? And boy can he open a kiss!

Put dry ingredients in a bowl and add hot water.

Stir and watch what happens to all of your ingredients, laugh a lot, drink and be merry. Our disappearing candy cane!

Oh, and when serving, might want to add an ice cube. We were going to "eat" our soup with a spoon, buuuuutt with Kellen...let's just say we avoided major chocolate cleanup using some old restaurant cups with LIDS and straws.
