The Ministry of Motherhood book study is well underway. Hope you decided to join in. I started a week late but it has been so worth it to join in. My first week's assignments were hard being that we were on vacation, but I did it! If nothing more, I felt the hand of a loving Father remind me of my value and how much the kids He has blessed me with need me. No on else can do what I do for them and still love them unconditionally. No one else can serve them and show them grace like me. Serve you say? Yes, I said serve. No, the boys don't walk around with little bells attached to their hands. Quite the opposite around here. But in reading, I realized that Jesus led his disciples by serving them. In no way is he considered weak or passive because he chose to SHOW them his love and not just say it. Sally Clarkson writes, "he (Jesus) chose to tie the cords of his heart to theirs with the strong and unbreakable bond of a loving, serving relationship." and "once, the wells of their (the kids') need are filled with the grace of being loved, will my words to them about God's grace finally make sense." (italics mine)
So bottom line, I need to show grace to my children by being present in body and mind (even when I'm so tired my eyelids are shutting) and by spending quality time together (even when the laundry needs folding, the dishes washed, the floors cleaned...).
I'm so looking forward to week 4!
